Our story, our founder, and the values that guide every classroom in Amarkantak.
Kalyanika Kendriya Shiksha Niketan was founded by the embodiment of austerity and penance, His Holiness Baba Kalyan Dasji Maharaj, and is managed by his worthy disciple and Managing Trustee, Shri Himadri Muni — himself a fountain of energy. K.K.S.N. embodies Babaji's educational dream.
Though he received no formal schooling himself, Babaji's wisdom, by the grace of the Universal Mother, placed him in a unique position to recognise the value of formal education — particularly in a remote place like Amarkantak, surrounded by deep woods and lofty mountains, culturally rich yet historically distant from the conveniences of modern civilisation.
Nature here is described by poets as the "unwritten law of God" and "the living, smiling garment of God" — an affectionate mother who lends herself to our dreams. As Wordsworth wrote, an impulse from a vernal wood can teach as much of right and wrong as any sage. It is in this celestial natural splendour that KKSN is enveloped.
KKSN's story is one of quiet, persistent growth — much like the sal forests that surround it. Replace the milestones below with your school's verified dates and details; this timeline format is ready to hold your real history.
His Holiness Baba Kalyan Dasji Maharaj envisions a school that brings formal education to the children of this remote, forested region without losing its cultural and spiritual roots.
As Managing Trustee, Shri Himadri Muni builds the institution from the ground up, establishing classrooms, gathering dedicated teachers, and welcoming the first batches of students.
The school adds new classrooms, sports facilities and an English-medium curriculum to prepare students for boards and the wider world beyond Amarkantak.
KKSN introduces its Innovation & Robotics Lab, continuing to honour Babaji's founding spirit while equipping students with skills for a fast-changing world.
His Holiness Baba Kalyan Dasji Maharaj is the founding spirit behind Kalyanika Kendriya Shiksha Niketan — an internationally respected saint known for a life of austerity, penance and quiet devotion. Though he never received formal schooling, his teachings speak repeatedly of vidya (true knowledge) as the force that liberates the mind from ignorance and leads a person toward self-realisation and lasting peace.
Babaji's message to students and parents is simple: education should not serve only material ambition, but should nurture character, discipline and a steady, reflective mind. It is this philosophy that continues to shape every classroom, every assembly, and every value taught at KKSN.
To empower every student to reach their full potential, foster a lifelong love for learning, and create responsible, compassionate citizens who contribute positively to the global community.
Our mission is to provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, critical thinking and personal growth. We strive to instil strong values, encourage creativity, and equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world.
A few simple rules that keep KKSN's day-to-day life disciplined, safe and fair for every student.
Attendance in prayer, physical training, social service assignments, sports and games, Yoga and Meditation classes, and the Saturday extension lecture is compulsory. Absence from any one of them is treated as absent for the whole day, and the student is fined accordingly.
Students arriving late will not be allowed to attend classes.
Parents and domestic staff are not allowed to meet a student during school hours. In special cases or emergencies, they must contact the Principal and seek permission.
Every student must be present on the day the school reopens after each vacation.
Parents are advised to plan family holidays according to the vacation schedule fixed by the school.
Parents are advised not to take their child out for weddings or other functions during the academic period.
No student may leave the school premises during school hours without the Principal's written permission.
Leave applications must be submitted in advance and are valid only with a parent's or guardian's signature. Absence without a leave application is fined ₹10 per day for the first week, and ₹50 per day for a second week of unexplained absence. A fortnight's absence without information or application results in termination from the school.
Regular medical check-ups are conducted by experts from Shri Chandracharya Charitable Hospital & Research Center to ensure student health. A student missing a scheduled check-up must deposit ₹30 for a re-check-up at the hospital, with the visit recorded in the student's Medical Card.
The Principal reserves the right to suspend any student whose conduct and/or academic progress is unsatisfactory.
Any suggestions or complaints should be submitted in writing, in confidence, to the Principal.
